How transport works in Rabat
Match the route to the shape of the city, not just the map.
- Group the day by area
- Use the simplest transfer
- Let walking and transit support each other
Walk the kasbah, medina edge, and central avenues, then use petit taxis or tram for longer jumps instead of pretending the city should all be done on foot.
Rabat works best through one compact central route with walking and short rides rather than broad all-day movement. A direct transfer into a route-matching base near the medina, Hassan area, or Ville Nouvelle edge is the cleanest first move because Rabat weakens when the hotel sits far from the useful central corridor.
Most transport problems come from forcing too many district changes into one day rather than from the system itself.
