How transport works in Moscow
Match the route to the shape of the city, not just the map.
- Group the day by area
- Use the simplest transfer
- Let walking and transit support each other
Public transport and walking are recommended
Moscow becomes much easier when you respect its radial structure. Build one day around the Kremlin and nearby core, another around one museum or boulevard district, and avoid treating every metro ride as trivial just because the system is excellent. Aeroexpress is often the cleanest first move when the hotel sits near a strong metro interchange, but the right transfer is still the one that avoids a luggage-heavy last mile. Moscow rewards transfer simplicity more than cheapest-theoretical routing.
Most transport problems come from forcing too many district changes into one day rather than from the system itself.
