How to get from the airport into Bern
Choose the simplest transfer that matches your arrival time.
- Compare direct vs cheapest route
- Check airport-specific ticket rules
If you arrive via Zurich or Geneva, the train is usually the real arrival choices; once in Bern, public transport and walking make the center easy without a taxi-first mindset.
Drop bags first, then use Zytglogge or Kramgasse as the first fixed stop so the day starts with a real address. Keep Zytglogge, Restaurant Kramer, and Kramgasse on one side of town at a time instead of crossing the city for every stop.
If you land late or with heavy luggage, paying a bit more for the simpler route can be the better travel choice.
